DEPARTMENT OF RADIO, TELEVISION AND CINEMA FEATURED AS A GUEST SCHOOL AT THE 8. INTERNATIONAL BALKAN PANORAMA FILM FESTIVAL

IKU Department of Radio, Television and Cinema was selected as a guest school to the 8th International Balkan Panorama Film Festival, which was held with cooperation of Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, had Istvan Szabo on advisory board, and included world-famous directors and screenwriters such as Milcho Manchevski.

3RD SİNEKÜLTÜR INTERCOLLEGIATE SHORT FILM COMPETITION AWARD CEREMONY

The award ceremony of the 3rd SineKültür Intercollegiate Short Film Competition, organized by the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema of the Faculty of Art and Design, was held on May 12, 2022, at the Sinematek Cinema House. The films chosen as the winners were watched by the jury members and the finalists at the ceremony where the awards in the "Documentary" and "Fictional Film" categories were given to honourees.

Script of short film called “654 gram” written by one of our Department of Radio, Television and Cinema student at Istanbul Kültür University Ömer Dişbudak, is selected to be as a finalist in the “19th Cinema of Future” competition which is organized by cooperation of TÜRSAK foundation and Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

ISTANBUL KÜLTÜR UNIVERSITY PARTICIPATED AS GUEST CINEMA SCHOOL IN BALKAN PANORAMA FILM FESTIVAL

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) took part as a guest cinema school in the 8th Balkan Panorama Film Festival, which was held between 21-27 May. The Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Assist. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz and the students of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema represented our university. During the festival, the films of our students were screened in special selections.

SELDA SALMAN'S ARTICLE TITLED "THE CULTURE INDUSTRY AND TRANSFORMATION OF THE VALUE OF HOPE" HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

The article titled “The Culture Industry and Transformation of the Value of Hope” by Selda Salman, one of our academicians from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, is published in the 32nd edition of Kultura i Wartości (Culture and Values) magazine, which has been published by Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Poland since 2013. published in the issue.

THE BOOK NAMED "NORDIK CINEMA", OF WHICH ASSIST. PROF. PERİHAN TAŞ ÖZ IS AMONG THE AUTHORS, HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Head Assist. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz's chapter titled "The Dark Echo of Laughter: Black Humor in Scandinavian Cinema" and the book Nordik Cinema, of which she is one of the authors, were published by Doğu Kitabevi. The work, which emerged with the collective effort of academics and filmmakers from Turkey and abroad, and which opens the door to the desire to think and know about regional cinema with prominent concepts, genres and themes, is the first Turkish book on Nordic Cinema.

LECTURER DR. SELDA SALMAN SAKIZLI’S ARTICLE IS PUBLISHED

The article titled “Violence, Wars, and the Possibility of Ethical Life in an Apocalypse: A Kantian Reading of The Walking Dead” of Lecturer Dr. Selda Salman Sakızlı, one of our academics from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, is published in the special issue titled Ethics and Politics of TV Series of Open Philosophy published by De Gruyter publishing, which has a publishing history for over a hundred years.

ASST. PROF. PERİHAN TAŞ ÖZ, HEAD OF RADIO, TELEVISION AND CINEMA DEPARTMENT, MET WITH ISTANBUL GELİŞİM UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Asst. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz, Head of Radio, Television and Cinema Department, attended the event titled "Vizyondaki Yıldızlar (Stars in the Vision)" organized by Istanbul Gelişim University Faculty of Fine Arts as a speaker. Our teacher, who came together with the students at the event held on Wednesday, December 15th, gave information about the writing and presentation of the "TV Series Film Script Project File".
