RES. ASSIST. BUĞRA MERT ALKAYALAR'S STORY TITLED "YENİ HAYAT” WAS INCLUDED IN THE FIRST TURKISH SCIENCE FICTION STORY ANTHOLOGY PUBLISHED IN ENGLISH

The story "Yeni Hayat", which was included in the book "Birtakım Rivayetler" by Res. Assist. Buğra Mert Alkayalar, a faculty member of IKU Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, was included in the story anthology "Anthology of Turkish Science Fiction Stories" published by Transnational Press London Publishing in the UK under the title "A New Life."

DEPARTMENT OF RADIO, TELEVISION AND CINEMA GRADUATES MET WITH STUDENTS AT THE "ALUMNI PANEL" EVENT

The Department of Radio, Television and Cinema organized the "Alumni Panel" event to build a bridge between graduates of different semesters and students studying in the department. The event, which was held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, in the 4th floor multi-purpose hall of the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building, was moderated by the Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Assoc. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz and academician Assist. Prof. Ayşe Duygu Atasoy Aktaş.

PANEL TALK WITH THE TEAM OF THE EMMY AWARD-WINNING "UKRAINE WAR DIARIES" DOCUMENTARY PROGRAM

A panel talk on the "Ukraine War Diaries" episode of the award-winning documentary series "Off the Grid" produced by TRT World, which was shot in Ukraine and won the 44th International Emmy Award, with the documentary series crew namely the director Mouhssine Ennaimi, Writer / Producer Alexandra Pauliat and TRT World Channel Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Bora Bayraktar participating in the event as the speakers, was organized with the joint efforts of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema and the Department of International Relations.

FAMOUS DIRECTOR KETCHE WAS A GUEST AT THE DEPARTMENT OF RADIO, TELEVISION AND CINEMA

"There's a Ketche in This!" as part of the "Sector Meeting Event" organized in cooperation with the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema and the Cinema Club. In the interview titled; Hakan Kırvavaç, known as Ketche, the director of successful films and TV series such as Kızılcık Şerbeti (2022- ), Müslüm (2018), Romantic Comedy (2010), met with our students and faculty members. Members of the Kültür College Alumni Association also attended the interview to listen to Ketche, a Kültür College graduate.

ASSOC. PROF. PERİHAN TAŞ ÖZ'S DOCUMENTARY FILM MADE IT TO THE FINALS AT THE 14TH INTERNATIONAL TRT DOCUMENTARY AWARDS

The documentary film project titled "Trip to Cilicia", written and directed by Assoc. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz, was organized by the Republic of Türkiye. It passed the pre-selection in the "Project Support Category" of the 14th International TRT Documentary Awards, organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture, and made it to the finals. TRT Documentary Awards will find their owners at the awards ceremony to be held on December 17, 2023. We congratulate our professor and wish her continued success.

“ATATÜRK'S HYPERREAL MEMORY” SEMINAR ON THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF FOUNDING OF THE TURKISH REPUBLIC

A seminar titled "Hyperreal Memory of Atatürk" was organized by the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema as a part of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Turkish Republic and the Commemoration of Atatürk festivities.  The seminar, to which Assist. Prof. Ümmühan Molo from Istanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University attended as the speaker, was held on Wednesday, November 8, at 14.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

“4TH MY WORK EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES" SEMINAR

Department of Radio Television and Cinema hosted SETEM (Professional Association of Cinema and Television Work Owners) Chairperson Director Mehmet Güleryüz, SETEM Honor Board Member Screenwriter Feza Sınar and SETEM Member Nazım Özdemir at the "4th My Work Educational Practices" seminar. In the seminar which was held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 10:00 in the 1G-05 multi-purpose hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus, our students were informed about copyright violations and the points that the owners of the works should pay attention to.

RES. ASSIST. BUĞRA MERT ALKAYALAR'S STORYBOOK TITLED "BİRTAKIM RİVAYETLER" IS OUT

The storybook titled "Birtakım Rivayetler" written by Res. Assist. Buğra Mert Alkayalar, one of the lecturers of IKU Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, was published by Porsuk Kültür Publishing. The signing day of the book, which consists of stories written by Alkayalar in the genres of suspense, mystery and horror, was held in Eskişehir on Saturday, July 8.

OUR STUDENT BATUHAN ÇELİK IS IN CANNES IN TURKISH CINEMA 2023 CATALOG!

Directed by Batuhan Çelik, one of our students from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, the feature film "Randevular,” which will soon be released in cinemas, was included in the Turkish Cinema 2023 catalogue organized in cooperation with the General Directorate of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Boğaziçi Culture and Art Foundation.

ONE OF TÜRKİYE'S MOST IMPORTANT DIRECTORS, EMİN ALPER, WAS THE GUEST OF THE DEPARTMENT OF RADIO, TELEVISION AND CINEMA

Emin Alper, who took his place among the prominent directors of today's cinema by receiving international awards at important film festivals in Türkiye and in the world, was the guest of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema. The focus of the talk held at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall on Tuesday, May 30, was the movie "Burning Days", which made its world premiere at the "Cannes Film Festival" in 2022 and became the center of many discussions due to the difficulties it faced during the production process as well as being a successful movie.
