A VISIT TO OUR DEPARTMENT OF RADIO, TELEVISION AND CINEMA FROM THE HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FILM DIRECTING AND PRODUCTION OF UNATC FILM SCHOOL

Director-Screenwriter Lect. Univ. Dr. Bogdan Mustata, Head of the Department of Film Directing & Production of National University of Theatre and Film I.L. Caragiale (UNATC), one of the leading film schools in Romania, visited our Department of Radio, Television and Cinema as part of the Erasmus Staff Mobility. Our Department Head Assoc. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz, our Co-Head of Department Assoc. Prof. Bilgehan Ece Şakrak and Dr. Bogdan Mustata made an assessment about the course operation processes and international projects to be carried out jointly.

OUR ALUMNI'S SUCCESS AT IKSV ISTANBUL FILM FESTIVAL

The documentary titled "The Sounds of the Canopy" (Gök Kubbenin Sedaları), in which Burak Bahadır Yazıcıoğlu, one of our alumni from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, takes over the editing and cinematography, and Günay Bozkurt, one of our alumni, takes over the camera and drone operator, is included in the film selection of IKSV Istanbul Film Festival. We congratulate our alumni and wish them continued success.

THE SUCCESS OF RES. ASSIST. BUĞRA MERT ALKAYALAR AT THE 18TH INTERNATIONAL SNOW FILM FESTIVAL

One of our Department of Radio, Television and Cinema lecturers, Res. Assist. Buğra Mert Alkayalar's short film script named "Station People" won the "Scenario" category of the 18th International Snow Film Festival. In addition, his documentary named "From Korea with Love" came in second in the "Documentary" category. We congratulate him and wish him continued success.

ASSOC. PROF. PERİHAN TAŞ ÖZ ACTED AS A MEMBER OF THE JURY AT THE 10TH INTERNATIONAL SILK ROAD FILM FESTIVAL

Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Assoc. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz, acted as a member of the main jury to determine “Best Fiction”, “Best Documentary” and “Best Animated” films in the "International" category of the 10th International Silk Road Film Festival, organized by the Cinema and Television Authors' Association (SETEM) with the support of the General Directorate of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, between 10-13 December 2022.

ASSOC. PROF. PERİHAN TAŞ ÖZ WAS THE GUEST OF THE "FILM ROOM" PROGRAM BROADCASTED ON TRT RADIO1

Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Assoc. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz was the guest of the program "Film Room" broadcasted on TRT Radio1. Assoc. Prof. Taş Öz, shared their commentary on the the movie Drive My Car, directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi, which received many significant awards , namely the Cannes Film Festival "Best Screenplay", "Ecumenical Jury", "FIBRESCI" and "Best Foreign Language Film Oscar".

A STUDENT OF IKU, ÖYKÜ DEVELİOĞLU WON FIRST PLACE IN THE INTERNATIONAL DYSTOPIA FILM FESTIVAL SCRIPT COMPETITION

We congratulate Öykü Develioğlu, a student from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, for wining the first place with their scenario named “Breath of Ashes” in the International Dystopia Film Festival National Short Film Script Competition organized by the International Independent Cinema and Art Association and with the contributions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as well as, the support of BKM Kitchen, at The Istanbul AKM.

Within the scope of the "2nd International Diyarbakir Short Film Festival", the Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Assoc. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz had an interview with TRT Cinema Director Faruk Güven about the co-production platforms in the cinema sector in Türkiye and the films produced in this context.

ASSOC. PROF. DR. PERİHAN TAŞ ÖZ, MADE HER PRESENTATION AT VISIBLE EVIDENCE XVIII

Head of Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Assoc. Prof. Dr. Perihan Taş Öz made her presentation with the title of “Challenging Dominant Narratives and Practices: Women's Voices in Contemporary Documentaries from Turkey” as a part of the Visible Evidence XVIII, one of the most important and well-established international conferences in the field of cinema, which was held at the University of Gdansk for the 28th time this year.

ASSIST. PROF. DR. PERİHAN TAŞ ÖZ'S DOCUMENTARY WAS GRANTED PROJECT SUPPORT

The documentary film project titled "Journey to Cilicia" of which the writing and directing has been undertaken by Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Assist. Prof. Dr. Perihan Taş Öz, has been granted to receive documentary film production project monetary support with the decision of the Support Board of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of Cinema.
