MASTER DIRECTOR AND SCREENWRITER OĞUZHAN TERCAN COMMEMORATED PART OF THE 4TH SİNEKÜLTÜR INTERUNIVERSITY SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

Master director and screenwriter Oğuzhan Tercan, who had been part of the faculty at Istanbul Kültür University for many years, was commemorated with a ceremony held with the participation of his students, colleagues and family members. Tercan, who has produced many popular films like “Uzlaşma”, “Hırsız Var!” and many commercials , has also lectured and trained countless students who have grown to be among the leading names of the sector. 

STUDENT OF DEPARTMENT OF RADIO, TELEVISION AND CINEMA SELECTED AS A JURY MEMBER AT THE 3RD INTERNATIONAL DYSTOPIA FILM FESTIVAL!

Öykü Develioğlu, a student of the Department of IKU Radio, Television and Cinema students, was selected to be a member of the Pre-Selection Jury for the "International Short Film" category of the 3rd International Dystopia Film Festival.  We congratulate our student, who had won the First Prize with their script named "Küllerin Nefesi" in the National Short Film Script Competition held last year, and wish them further success.

SHORT FILMS OF A STUDENT OF IKU DEPARTMENT OF RADİO, TELEVISION AND CINEMA ARE AVAILABLE ON BLUTV

The ceremonial event "Yedikule Anatolian High School 9th ​​Short Film Festival Award Ceremony", in which the films produced after the cinema training given as a part of the educational cooperation protocol signed between IKU Department of Radio, Television and Cinema and Yedikule Anatolian High School were screened and evaluated, was held at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Centre on Thursday, April 27. In the ceremony, in which the faculty members of IKU Department of Radio, Television and Cinema acted as jury members, awards were given in 10 different categories.

Assoc. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz, our Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, was the guest of the program "Film Room" broadcast on TRT Radio1. In the program. Assoc. Dr Taş Öz evaluated the film The Banshees of Inisherin, directed by Martin McDonagh, which was nominated for "Academy Awards" in 9 categories and received awards in many international film festivals.

A VISIT TO OUR DEPARTMENT OF RADIO, TELEVISION AND CINEMA FROM THE HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FILM DIRECTING AND PRODUCTION OF UNATC FILM SCHOOL

Director-Screenwriter Lect. Univ. Dr. Bogdan Mustata, Head of the Department of Film Directing & Production of National University of Theatre and Film I.L. Caragiale (UNATC), one of the leading film schools in Romania, visited our Department of Radio, Television and Cinema as part of the Erasmus Staff Mobility. Our Department Head Assoc. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz, our Co-Head of Department Assoc. Prof. Bilgehan Ece Şakrak and Dr. Bogdan Mustata made an assessment about the course operation processes and international projects to be carried out jointly.

OUR ALUMNI'S SUCCESS AT IKSV ISTANBUL FILM FESTIVAL

The documentary titled "The Sounds of the Canopy" (Gök Kubbenin Sedaları), in which Burak Bahadır Yazıcıoğlu, one of our alumni from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, takes over the editing and cinematography, and Günay Bozkurt, one of our alumni, takes over the camera and drone operator, is included in the film selection of IKSV Istanbul Film Festival. THE SUCCESS OF RES. ASSIST. BUĞRA MERT ALKAYALAR AT THE 18TH INTERNATIONAL SNOW FILM FESTIVAL

One of our Department of Radio, Television and Cinema lecturers, Res. Assist. Buğra Mert Alkayalar's short film script named "Station People" won the "Scenario" category of the 18th International Snow Film Festival. In addition, his documentary named "From Korea with Love" came in second in the "Documentary" category. We congratulate him and wish him continued success.
