“ATATÜRK'S HYPERREAL MEMORY” SEMINAR ON THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF FOUNDING OF THE TURKISH REPUBLIC

A seminar titled "Hyperreal Memory of Atatürk" was organized by the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema as a part of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Turkish Republic and the Commemoration of Atatürk festivities.  The seminar, to which Assist. Prof. Ümmühan Molo from Istanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University attended as the speaker, was held on Wednesday, November 8, at 14.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

The ever-evolving progress of artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality technologies were the subjects discussed in the seminar, as well as the positive aspects of this progress and its role in the reproduction of social memory.  With that, Atatürk's 'constructed image' reconstructed in the images and videos produced by artificial intelligence were discussed namely in relation to ethics and responsibility awareness in content production.
