IKU Department of Radio, Television and Cinema History

İstanbul Kültür University Department of Radio, Television and Cinema started its academic life in 2015-2016 academic term.

Aim of the department is to raise professionals who are creative,disciplined and received an ambitious education that is parallel with Radio, Television and Cinema technologies. For this purpose with an education program that makes theory and practise go hand-in-hand, and the lectures are conducted by academicians who are experts in their field and professionals working in the field of Radio, Television and Cinema.

Istanbul Kultur University in 2008. CILECT (World Cinema School Association) became a member and still continued to work as a single member schools from Turkey, artistic and academic relations with the institution Movie and Television Department is carried out by. In 2012, the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema became a member of SEECS (Association of Southeast European Film Schools). Since its opening year, the department students are sent and encouraged to domestic and foreign film festivals, in addition to the syllabus, cinema-TV professionals (Mehmet Açar, Derviş Zaim, Hilmi Etikan, Tolga Karaçelik, Ercan Kesal, etc.) are invited and regular interviews, panels, screenings and workshops are held.
